It's thanks to the military that Chumbe Island (a former base) remains quite so pristine. Off-limits for years, this tiny, uninhabited isle has incredible coral gardens that are essentially a private playground for guests of this eco-camp. Its seven palm-thatched bungalows blend with their beach and forest surroundings, while proceeds from the camp's operation fund local conservation projects and schools.
